Last night, at E3 2019 Xbox’s press conference, Cyberpunk 2077 released its latest trailer and finally set its release date.
On 16th of April, 2020, the game will be available on all gaming platforms! So, mark your calendars and get hype!
Some might ask, what is Cyberpunk 2077 to begin with and why is there a lot of hype around it?
Well, Cyberpunk 2077 is an open world, FPS (first person shooter), RPG (role-playing game) that takes place in future dystopian California, where everyone is obsessed with body modifications. (not just tattoos or plastic surgery). It has a Blade Runner/Ghost In The Shell aesthetic and vibe to it, both of which follow the cyberpunk subgenre.
Cyberpunk is a subgenre of science-fiction stories set in future settings. It mainly focuses on showcasing a combination of low life and high tech. As in out of this world technological advancements, with a degree of breakdown in social order.
Made by the geniuses behind The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt, CD Projekt RED has been working on Cyberpunk for a loooooong time. It was first announced back in 2012, and its first teaser trailer was released back in 2013.
With no release date announced, fans have long speculated when will the game actually be released. Until last night.

The trailer surprised the fans within its last seconds by revealing that fan favorite, Keanu Reeves, is a character in the game!
