Good riddance.
On Saturday, Egypt’s Supreme Media Council suspended TV host Reham Saeed after she made degrading and insulting comments about overweight women on her late-night show “Sabaya”.
Saeed’s remarks caused a gigantic turmoil on Egyptian and Arab social media. High-profile figures, such as Egyptian actress Engy Wegdan, who’s well known for her body positivity stance, and Lebanese TV host Rabia Zayyat, weighed in and criticized Saeed.
After her suspension was announced, Saeed shared a video in which she says that she’ll quit once and for all, due to the stress that comes with such a job, and that she’s been suffering from that stress for 16 years.
Worthy to mention that this is not the first time that Saeed was under fire tho. Back in October 2015 she accused a woman slapped by a sexual harasser of dressing “disgracefully” and shared unconsented, stolen photos of the victim in a swimsuit on her show.
What a shitbag of a person.
