“Dollar”, The New Arabic Original Netflix Series!

Things just keep getting better and better!

It all started with “Jinn“, the first ever original Arabic (Jordanian) Netflix series that tells a coming-of-age story with elements of the supernatural.

Although Jinn really wasn’t the best series out there, it commenced the start of a new era. The original Arabic Netflix series era that is.

Hell, it was one of the worst series out there

What came afterwards was the announcement of “Paranormal“, a new original Arabic (Egyptian) Netflix series, which you can read about here.

And now, the latest to join the club is “Dollar“, the newest original Arabic (Lebanese) Netflix series.

Dollar takes place in Lebanon and it follows the story of Tarek (Adel Karam), an advertising genius, who’s given the task to come up with a million-dollar idea for the launch of a new bank. An idea strikes him, but he will only reveal it to the CEO, making Zeina (Amal Bouchoucha), the CEO, suspicious.

Also, Dollar will have a unique format of 15 episodes, which aims to capture the attention of a newer and younger generation of audiences in the Middle East.

The show’s story is done by Mahmoud Idris, written by Mostafa Zayed and Mohamed El-Dabbah, and is directed by the one and only, Samer Berkawi.

Worthy also to mention that the script is developed for TV by Egypt’s own Hisham Hilal.

Who is Hisham Hilal you might ask?

Hisham Hilal

Well, Hisham Hilal is an accomplished Egyptian writer who has worked on a couple of Egyptian series like Third Party (Al Taraf Al Talet), Underground (Taht Al Ard), and Kasablanka. So it’s really an expected thing to be really excited about this! At least us here in the office.

Dollar will be available on Netflix by the 8th of August. You can watch the trailer here:
